John hails from a strict family, that prevents him from using words dreaded words like 'f'. Hence, it has been reported that John had almost said no to Shootout at Wadala, as his role as gangster Manya Surve requires him to use a lot of cuss words.
It is to be noted that gaalis and slang words are underworld's daily lingo. Hence, John couldn't escape these hard, vulgar words. In fact, the actor had requested the director Sanjay Gupta to tone down slightly when it comes to such hard slangs. But, Gupta argued and finally compelled John to fit in the ganster's bhasha.
