Shahid Kapoor unable to work with Karan Johar

Shahid Kapoor apparently wanted UTV along with Karan Johar to produce the Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster film Vettai. However, that did not work out, and now the film will be produced by UTV alone.

Shahid Kapoor, who was keen to work with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, might just have to wait a little longer! Shahid was reportedly very excited about working in Karan Johar's film, directed by Punit Malhotra. When UTV approached Shahid with the proposal to remake Vettai, the actor suggested that UTV and Dharma Productions should co-produce the film. Everything was going fine when Karan Johar backed out.

According to a newspaper, since Karan Johar is already co-producing a film, with Balaji Telefilms, he is not interested in another co-production venture. Besides, Johar is also busy with his directorial venture Student of the Year.
