Shahrukh Khan likely to reprise Jawarharlal Nehru's role

Oscar nominated filmmaker Bruce Beresford is planning to make a biopic on former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. If reports are to believed, he is considering superstar Shahrukh Khan for the role of Shahrukh Khan in the film. If everything goes well, SRK will reprise the role of Nehru.

According to reports, Bruce Beresford is currently in Mumbai to talk about his upcoming film on Indira Gandhi. He attended the dinner party thrown in his honour and spoke about his plans to make film on Indira Gandhi. His team has used a technology to morph the faces of several Indian and foreign stars into that of the characters from the film.

During the dinner party, Bruce Beresford's team gave a power-point presentation of these morphed faces. The names of Shahrukh Khan and Charlize Theron created a stir on the occasion. Especially, there was quite a flutter in the room when SRK's face morphed into that of Jawaharlal Nehru.

However, it should be recalled here that Joe Wright had also made a serious effort to make a movie on Jawaharlal Nehru romance with Edwina Mountbatten. But he had to cancel the movie when he faced strong problems like spiraling production cost and strong objection from Indian government against his controversial subject. Now, it should be seen whether Bruce Beresford's plans will be fulfilled or not.
