Vivek Oberoi playing Dawood Ibrahim in his biopic?

It was recently reported that Vivek Oberoi was to play Dawood Ibrahim in Shootout At Wadala, but he had rejected the offer over differences with the filmmaker Sanjay Gupta. But the actor is reportedly still too keen to do the role and he is said to be reprising the same in another upcoming project.

Sources claim that Vivek Oberoi's new project would be a biopic on dreaded gangster Dawood Ibrahim and it aims to unravel the cult status achieved by world’s most dreaded don, besides showcasing his human side. The shooting of his ambitious project is expected to start in the year 2013.

However, this untitled movie will be reportedly produced by Amit Chandra, who is also producing Vivek’s another film Kismet Love Paisa Dilli. According to sources, the script-work of the film has not begun yet. Since it is a movie on Dawood Ibrahim, the makers think that a lot of research is needed.
