Why Rajesh Khanna married Dimple Kapadia?

Rajesh Khanna shocked the world by marrying Dimple Kapadia, who was 15 years younger to him, in March 1973. Dimple was Rajesh Khanna's huge fan. But everyone wanted to know why out of all the actresses, Rajesh Khanna married such a young girl.

It has been said that Rajesh Khanna's career started dipping when he met Dimple Kapadia, while Dimple Kapdia got very famous because of her debut film Bobby. So, Rajesh Khanna thought that his marriage to Dimple would keep him in the limelight. As far as Dimple is concerned, she was very young and was Rajesh Khanna's huge fan. Before Bobby happened, Dimple used to stand outside Rajesh Khanna's bungalow Aashirwad to catch a glimpse of India's first superstar.

However, Rajesh Khanna never took care of his wife and just like his career, he even took his marriage for granted. Dimple just had one job after marriage and that was to sit at home and serve food to Khanna's 'chamchas'.

Finally, Dimple left Khanna and the couple started living separately. In his last days, Rajesh Khanna apologised to Dimple for his past mistakes.
