It has been rumoured so far that actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan might make her comeback along with her hubby Abhishek Bachchan in the movie Masoom remake. But, not known to many, Abhi-Ash were actually not the first choice for the remake of this classic movie. Reportedly, actors Irrfan Khan and Vidya Balan were initially considered for the respective roles of Nasserudin Shah and Shabana Azmi in the movie.
Shekhar Kapur's 1983 movie Masoom featured Nasserudin Shah and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles. As per IBTimes reports, the reason why Vidya Balan and Irrfan Khan had turned down this offer was because they thought that it would be unfair to work in a classic like Masoom. After the two actors opted out of the remake, Abhishek Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai have been considered for the respective roles in the remake.
Rumour has it that Himesh Reshammiya has bought the remake rights of Masoom from the original producers Chanda Dutt and Devi Dutt. Now, Himesh wants Aishwarya to do the role of Shabama Azmi in the remake.
