How Did Kaanchi actress Mishti Got The Sweet Name?

We all know newbie Mishti who is all set with her debut film Kaanchi but very few might be knowing how the actress has been named as Mishti.

Film-maker Subhash Ghai's current favourite Mishti's real name is Indrani Chakraborty and Mishti is her nick-name. While making of the movie Kaanchi, director Subhash Ghai came to know that Indrani's nick-name is Mishti and Subhash often names his female characters with the letter 'M' as this letter stands for 'Mother'.

Hence, Ghai decided to call Indrani as Mishti. "For me 'M' doesn't connote money or movie. During the screen test she told me that her nickname is Mishti and it clicked. It is one Bengali word which can instantly connect with the Indian audience and it gelled with my motto of alluding the 'M' word to mean mother," said the director.

Mishti is also very glad to have be known by her sweet nickname. "I will not be known by any other name any more. I will be known as Mishti only," asserted the budding actress.

Meanwhile, Mishti also talked about her on-screen kiss in Kaanchi with co-star Kartik Tiwari and admitted that she was very nervous about the scene. "None of us could get it right as I was nervous and Kartik was blushing. But Subhashji was not in mood to skip the scene and finally we got it right on the 37th take," revealed Mishti.

The movie Kaanchi is ready to be released tomorrow on April 25th and both the stars and the director are very hopeful for a positive response.
