Katrina Kaif was the first choice for Salman Khan's Sultan but she rejected the role because she was dating Ranbir Kapoor at that time.

Sultan has been in news since its inception. Before Anushka Sharma was finalised, it was said that Parineeti Chopra, Deepika Padukone or Priyanka Chopra might play the lead actress opposite Salman Khan in the movie. But now it has been revealed that, Salman wanted to romance Katrina Kaif in Sultan.

Talking about the same, a source revealed BOC, '' Katrina Kaif was the first choice before Anushka Sharma turned to be lucky by bagging the lead actress role. Salman Khan wanted Katrina Kaif to be his leading actress. Katrina was offered the role at first, but since she was dating Ranbir Kapoor, she rejected the role.''

Well, we are sure that Katrina Kaif would be regretting her decision of leaving Sultan now (post her break-up with Ranbir Kapoor). We all know that Kat's career is going nowhere and her recently released film Fitoor too, bombed at the box office. So, according to us, Katrina missed a big opportunity, as Salman Khan's films perform extremely well at the box office.

On the work front, Katrina Kaif is busy with the shooting of Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos with ex boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.
