Russian film-maker Alexey Petruhin is reported to have
approached Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor to star in his ambitious
project 'VIY: Journey To India'. Confirming that both the stars
have been approached for the project, Alexey told Indian Express,
"We have approached SRK to be the lead actor and also the
co-producer of the film. We are awaiting confirmation from him. The
another actor we have approached is Ranbir Kapoor. We want to bring
SRK and Ranbir together."
The project has a budget of a whopping 40 Million US dollars!
Talking about the film, Alexey said, "Journey to India is about
bringing Russia and India together. It's a big movie and the budget
will be around 40 million US dollars."
He further commented, "We were looking for an actor who is like
a leader in this industry with his own production house. Like from
China, we signed Jackie Chan who is also a producer. So we have
approached SRK and I am sure he will be interested in this type of
project because it has world-class appeal and the film will be
released all over the world."
"The scope of Russian films in India and Indian films in Russia
is still not there. I have watched a lot of Indian movies. And that
is why we have decided to do this joint collaboration between India
and Russia in the form of VIY: Journey to India," quipped Russian
film-maker Alexey Petruhin.
