Aanand L Rai's dwarf film has been in the news since its inception. Earlier, it was reported that both Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone would play important roles in the movie.

According to recent reports, Alia Bhatt has been finalised for Aanand L Rai's next with superstar Shahrukh Khan.

Did Deepika Leave The Film Herself?

It was being said that Deepika Padukone was the first choice for the role, but she reportedly opted out of the film as she was busy with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati, which will release on November 17.

Deepika Was Most Likely To Do The Film

Talking about the same, a source told Mid-Day, "Deepika was most likely to do the film, making it her fifth screen pairing with Shah Rukh, who will be seen playing a dwarf.''

''But, as luck would have it, things did not work out between her and the makers and now, there is a possibility that Anushka might do it," says a source.

Anushka Too Was Considered For The role

Reportedly, even Anushka Sharma was considered for Deepika Padukone's role but the actress said no as she is already working with SRK in Imtiaz's film.

Director-producer Aanand L Rai, had revealed that the movie will have a romantic story,"You may assume that. When an actor like Shah Rukh is there, it is bound to do something with romance."
