Bangistan is not a great film and surely can be missed during this weekend but if you are a Riteish Deshmukh fan, then you can manage to sit for 2 hours in the theater and bare this bad film with a great performance by Riteish.

Director Karan Anshuman has a great concept on paper with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani backing him up but he fails to deliver it on the big screen and whole lot of confusion in the story just messes up the beautiful concept he tried to show us through this film.

A fine fine concept has been butchered in one swift stroke. Bangistan tries hard to give you those much-anticipated giggles. It ends up making a lot of noise but audiences don’t walk into the theatre to hear a bang. ‘Sound’ direction and less hamming could have saved this venture from turning into a cinematic disaster.

Evidently, Bangistan is silly and that need not be a bad thing in a movie. However, characters who are silly don’t make a film interesting by default; silly characters who are either self-aware or being deployed by a director who can use goofiness intelligently does.

Every character in the film is so poorly written that you neither care about their buffoonery nor their journey. In case you were wondering, there are three writers taking credit for this script. Yet nothing about them in the film convinces us of that weighty change.
