Dhadak Story

Dhadak is a 2018 Bollywood drama, which has been written and directed by Shashank Khaitan. The movie marks the debut of veteran actress Sridevi's daughter Jhanvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan Khattar.

The movie depicts the love between Parthavi (Janhvi Kapoor) & Madhukar (Ishaan Khatter). Madhukar belongs to a lower caste, which invites honour killings of both by Parthavi's kin.

Dhadak is an official remake of Marathi movie Sairat, which stars Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar in the lead roles. Sairat became the first Marathi film to gross over ₹100 crore worldwide and also the movie ran for more than 100 days in many released centres.

Dhadak hit the big screens on July 20, 2018.
