Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana Critics Review

filmibeat.com
Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, directed by Sameer Sharma is one of the most fun-filled and entertaining films to be churned out in Bollywood in recent times.
It's probably the first time in Bollywood that a director has taken food as his storyline and come up with such a unique and powerful film! The mixture of an excellent script combined with brilliant performances and some very 'straight out of life' sequences make Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana 'special' and fun to watch.
Any movie made against the backdrop of a Punjabi household is expected to have a lot of 'band baaja' and 'masti', and debutant director Sameer Sharma does not disappoint you one bit! Sharma succeeds in uniting the different characters and instilling loads of humour in it.
Music by Amit Trivedi is different and very offbeat. 'Kikli Kalerdi' and 'Luni Hasi' are the best of the lot. The dialogues are filled with humour and you can't help but laugh your guts out! Camera by Mitesh Mirchandani is excellent as he has captured the lush greenery of Punjab very well.
Story
Omi Khurana (Kunal Kapoor) has just returned to his hometown in Punjab from London. Well, to be more precise, he escaped from London to save himself from a dangerous U.K. gangster (Munish Makhija) to whom he owes a lot of money to!
After returning to his hometown, Omi pretends that he is a well-settled lawyer in London. On his return, he finds that his home is no longer the same old home that he left a decade back after stealing money from his doting grandfather, Darji (Vinod Nagpal). Since then, Darji has undergone a lot of change and has also forgotten the secret recipe of 'Chicken Khurana.' The dish had made the Khurana dhaba popular across Punjab.
Harman (Huma Qureshi) is Omi's childhood sweetheart who is all set to marry his cousin, Jeet (Rahul Bagga). Then there is Omi's uncle Titu (Rajesh Sharma) to add to the 'fun and mad world' of the Khuranas!
Join Omi in his madcap adventure as he tries to cover his lies from the world and recover the lost recipe of Chicken Khurana, the only thing that will bring back the lost wealth and pride of the Khuranas!
The script becomes a little sluggish in between. A little more crisper editing could have been done. That is perhaps the only 'minus' in the film!
Performances
Every actor stands out in performance. However, it is Rajesh Sharma who undoubtedly walks away with the cake. What an actor, and what a performance! Rajesh has a way of connecting with the audience and bringing the house down with his natural expression and sense of humour. Kunal Kapoor is charming and a very powerful actor too. Watch out for him! Another actor who deserves a mention is Dolly Ahluwalia and Huma Qureshi. Both are very natural and spontaneous actors. Rajendra Sethi as always is outstanding. Vinod Nagpal is good, but doesn't get too many good lines to deliver.
