Nautanki Saala

It's not an easy task for filmmakers to make a hillarious, yet a sensible comedy flick, that would be remembered and cherished by the viewers always. But, Rohan Sippy takes up this challenging task with his latest release Nautanki Saala. Featuring Ayushmann Khuranna and Kunal Roy Kapur in the leads, Nautanki Saala is a interesting, side-splitting comedy flick, that leaves it's audience laugh and giggle to the core.

Story:
Nautanki Sala introduces us to some weird and peculiar characters- like, Ram Parmar (Ayushmann Khuranna), who is theatre actor and the other, Mandar Lele (Kunaal Roy Kapur) who is troubled and lonely. RP aka Ram Parmar plays the evil-minded Raavan in a long-running stage production, but he is equally a good-soul in real life. It all begins after RP meets Mandar Lele, who is immensely depressed and tries to commit suicide, but gets saved by RP. The story is about the bonding and friendship between RP and Lele and how RP tries hard to make Lele regain his confidence.

What strikes us in this movie is the way it has been presented. The first half of the film is interesting, hillarious and full of witty humour. But, during the second half, the movie slogs hard and test your patience. Despite the second part fails to hit the right chords amongst the masses, Kunal and Ayushmann's magnificent camaraderie remains the most striking point here.

Performances:
The best thing about Nautanki Saala would be the excellent performances delivered by both Kunal Roy Kapoor and Ayushmann Khuranna. Ayushmann is extraordinary in few scenes. He is funny, humorous, especially, his comic timings need a special mention.

Kunal is effortlessly hillarious and his natural comic gestures will make on a laughter spree. Not many actors have the capability to make you laugh, only with facial experssions. But, Kapoor does it and his face is more than enough to make burst into laughter in many scenes.

Verdict:
On the whole, Nautanki Saala is a genuine comedy, with some incredible performances. Watch this out, if you are looking out for an intelligent, smart comic flick.
