Pari Story

Pari is a 2018 Bollywood horror drama, directed by Prosit Roy. The movie stars Anushka Sharma & Parambrata Chatterjee in the lead roles. Pari marks Anushka's third production with her production house, Clean Slate Films. Upon release of the trailer Anushka Sharma was praised for her spooky avatar which made the audience & critics highly impressed. Pari opens with Aurnab (Parambrata Chatterjee) subjecting himself to an arrangement set-up. Unfortunately on their way back, their car, driven by his father, hits an old woman and instantly kills her. On conducting further investigations, the cops reach the deceased woman's house in the forest where they discover Ruksana (Anushka Sharma) chained and battered. Feeling pity on her sorry state, Aurnab decides to offer refuge to her. But beware, this isn't a fairy tale! Will Arnab realise this before it's too late? Music & Release Date: The music of Pari is composed by Anupam Roy & background score by Ketan Sodha. The movie is all set to hit the big screen on March 2. Unfortunate Incident: During the shoot of Pari on August 2017, a technician (Shah Alam) died of electrocution post which the shooting was paused for a while.

Helmed by first-time director Prosit Roy, this devil-mortal love story offers something new on the platter when it comes to horror genre in Indian cinema. Kudos to Anushka Sharma for portraying a gamut of emotions and be all game for a bloodied avatar. Ditching the make-up look, the actress is at her basic best with cold-blue eyes which have secrets hidden in them. Like a chameleon changing its color, Anushka is at once vulnerable, repugnant and vicious. In a nutshell, Pari manages to frighten you purely with its superlative performances and spine-chilling visuals. To Anushka Sharma, 'We love you, too' for stepping out of your comfort zone and giving us a supernatural film that succeeds in avoiding the deep pit of cliches. This is not one for the faint-hearted ones!

The first half of Pari, which means angel, seems to suffer from schizophrenia with its attempt to blend romance into a plot that’s decidedly dark and ghoulish. In a perfect demonic world, there’s no space for a romantic song, but the makers of Pari march ahead and still stick in a song anyway. However, the director seems to get his command back in the second half as its morbidity quotient goes up. There are twists that aren’t predictable, but the climax suffers from a touch of unnecessary melodrama.

Anushka Sharma plays Rukhsana with a great deal of bloody enthusiasm. You cannot accuse her of not trying hard, but the film is so poorly-written, and so scatter-brained that nothing can rescue it, not even a leading lady who is determined to do something different with her producing heft. Poor Parambrata Chatterjee is left trying to hold up the story, such as it is, and is the only one left standing
