The event was the press conference with Akshay Kumar regarding the success of Phir Hera Pheri. Akshay who has just returned from a long holiday with his wife and son seems to be very relaxed. Clad in a blue T-shirt and denim pants, he was more than willing to interact with the media.
Talking about his latest release Phir Hera Pheri, Akshay said that he was very happy with the response the film is getting from the audiences. This in turn actually adds up to his responsibility as an actor and that he has to deliver good performances in future as well. The director's work is one of the major reasons for the success. The director of the film, Neeraj Vora, is a very talented man says Akshay. "Neeraj understands the common man very well and his pen writes the exact dialogues and situations that a common man goes through in his daily life. This has been the reason why both Hera Pheri and Phir Hera Pheri, have been a success among the masses". Neeraj Vora wrote the screenplay for Hera Pheri and also wrote and directed Phir Hera Pheri.
Akshay however, didn't seem to be much aware that his latest release was making records. Since he was holidaying till last week, Akshay was surprised to learn that the script of Phir Hera Pheri was selected to be a part of collection the Oscar Library. He was glad to know about it and was also happy that his film is on the 8th position on the U.K. top ten this week.
It was then time for Akshay Kumar to surprise us all. The most shocking news came when Akshay revealed that he is learning editing. In fact, that was the actually reason why he went out for holiday. Akshay actually went to an institute abroad where he has been learning editing. Interestingly, he also won an award for editing last year and this year too he went with the intention of winning. The man however, didn't reveal much about his newly acquired skill and said us to keep watching. Looks like Akki has planned to do some magic on movie reels as well.
Speaking of learning, Akshay says that he had planned to start a martial arts institute in Mumbai. He was very excited about the project but apparently, he didn't get a right location from the government to go ahead with it. He was provided an area far away from the city which he didn't think was feasible. He therefore dropped the plan.
Coming back to films, Akshay says that doing comedy is difficult. One can make people cry easily but when it comes to make them laugh, it is a tough job. He personally however, likes to do emotional roles and that is what he is offering the audiences in his next film, Jaaneman. Jaaneman stars Salman Khan along with Akshay Kumar. The duo teamed up onscreen in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi in 2004 and made the audiences laugh from start till the end of the film. But Jaaneman, informs Akshay, is far from being funny. The film which also stars Preity Zinta is very emotional love story that will touch the audiences. With the increasing number of hits coming his way, Akshay just hopes that he continues delivering good performances and lives up to the expectations of the audiences.
