Amrita
Arora
has
alleged
racial
discrimination
from
the
Lufthansa
Airlines
staff
after
her
flight
got
held
up
at
Sofia
Airport
for
almost
16
hours.
Says
Amrita,
"I
was
returning
from
Bulgaria
after
shooting
a
song
for
Hriday
Shetty's
Godfather.
I
took
the
5
am
connecting
flight
via
Frankfurt
to
Mumbai.
The
connecting
flight
to
Mumbai
was
at
1.45
pm,
but
we
were
later
told
that
the
flight
had
been
indefinitely
delayed.
From
then
on,
the
nightmare
started..."
According
to
Amrita,
the
Lufthansa
Airlines
staff
at
the
airport
were
very
arrogant
and
not
cordial.
On
the
other
hand,
the
white
passengers
were
not
only
treated
differently,
but
the
staff
was
also
polite
with
them.
Infuriated
by
the
whole
episode,
she
registered
a
complaint
there.
Adds
Amrita,
"Most
airlines
provide
rooms
for
passengers
if
a
flight
is
delayed
for
more
than
eight
hours.
But
they
told
us
that
no
rooms
were
available."
However,
according
to
the
airport
sources,
there
was
a
bomb
scare
at
the
Sofia
airport
just
before
Amrita's
arrival,
hence
they
were
over
cautious.
All
the
passengers
were
asked
to
take
off
their
socks
and
shoes
and
were
not
allowed
to
carry
anything
in
their
handbags,
except
for
their
passport
and
documents.
