Director
Ketan
Mehta
is
now
working
on
a
new
subject
for
his
next
film.
The
film
will
be
based
on
the
life
of
painter
Ravi
Verma.
Says
Mehta,
he
had
read
a
Marathi
novel
'Raja
Ravi
Verma'
few
years
back
and
was
inspired
to
make
a
film
on
the
subject.
Ketan
Mehta's
last
film
was
The
Rising
starring
Aamir
Khan
which
didn't
do
very
well
at
the
Box
office.
Interestingly,
Bobby
Bedi,
the
producer
of
The
Rising
has
also
planned
a
film
on
the
same
subject.
Bedi
and
Mehta
had
differences
over
the
marketing
and
distribution
of
the
film
Mangal
Pandey
whereby
they
parted
ways.
And
now,
both
are
separately
working
on
same
subject,
which
is
the
life
of
painter
Ravi
Verma.
Bobby
Bedi
has
roped
in
Shaji
Karun,
a
South
director
for
his
film.
This
is
the
same
film
for
which
Madhuri
Dixit
was
approached
for
playing
the
female
lead.
There
is
also
a
buzz
that
Bedi
is
in
talks
with
Ajay
Devgan
for
the
male
lead.
