The
Nadiadwalas
are
going
through
the
best
phase
professionally!
While
Firoz
A.
Nadiadwala's
Phir
Hera
Pheri
has
hit
the
bull's
eye,
cousin
Sajid
Nadiadwala
has
sold
the
Mumbai
territory
distribution
rights
of
Jaanemann
to
Shree
Ashtavinayak
Cinevision
Ltd.
for
a
fantastic
price.
Incidentally,
Sajid's
last
release,
Mujhse
Shaadi
Karogi,
was
also
distributed
by
Ashtavinayak
in
Mumbai
circuit.
Denis Selarka of Ashtavinayak was non-committal when asked about the price, "but we'll decide on it [price] at the time of release," Selarka states. However, sometime back, there were rumors in the industry that Nimbus was ready to pay Rs. 7 crores for the Mumbai distribution rights of this Salman-Akshay-Preity starrer.
Meanwhile, the latest on the release date of Jaanemann is that the film will either release on August 25 [as announced] or after Diwali. "If Jaanemann doesn't hit the screens on August 25, Sajid has decided to release it after Diwali. With several big films in the fray this Diwali, it's better to schedule another biggie after a sufficient gap. However, Sajid has said that he'll confirm the release date by June 22," Selarka adds.
There's more on Ashtavinayak! After Tom Dick and Harry, Ashtavinayak has acquired the world rights of yet another film: Dil Diya. This film brings the Aashiq Banaya Aapne team of producer Balabhai, director Aaditya Datt, music director Himesh Reshammiya and actor Emraan Hashmi together for the second time.
