Preeti Jhangiani and her co- actor Nakul Vaid had a miraculous escape on the sets of With Love Tumhaara in hill station Manali in early April this year. Preeti and Nakul had kept mum about this close encounter with death, simply because Preeti's parents would have made a big hue and cry about it. "My parents always get worried about me. Whenever I shoot outside, either of then accompany me. This was the first time that I had a gone without them," says the actress and look what a escape I had.

Preeti believes, "Nakul and I have got a second life." For a particular song sequence, the actors were required to slide down the ice from a great height. "Nakul and I were provided a tyre on which we both had to accommodate each other. The tyre was tied with a rope which was to be held by a strong and agile person.

Although there was a Prior Preparation but the tyre was not skidding on the ice and the lot of ice was removed. The shot was tried with the crewmembers and the tyre did not skid on the ice. "Quite a bit of ice was removed before we could go down. Preeti was sitting on my lap," says Vaid.

The speeding tyre put them in trouble Preeti continues, at the end of the descent, there was a valley. To avoid any calamity, the Director, Kamal Nathani had asked some people stand a little ahead of the valley. The descent began and the person who was holding the wire, caved in. the speed of the tyre proved to be too much faster rate, we were nearing the end of the descent, but the wire was not being tugged backwards to stop the tyre.."

What happened to the emergency group posted near the beginning of the valley? Says Nakul, "They panicked, and instead of coming closer, they started going away."

Luckily, Preeti and Nakul's tyre came to a halt in a three feet patch where there was no ice. "At handshaking distance there was a tree. My cheeks hit Preeti's head and her head banged against the tree. It was a miracle that we survived. If we had hit the tree, we would have been hurt very seriously. If we hadn't go stuck with that ice-less patch, we would have gone down the valley and had a fatal fall," recounts the actor.

The shooting was stopped for about half an hour. Nakul had to use make-up so that the injury couldn't be seen. I wish I could take this accident out of my mind. It keeps coming back and giving me gooseflesh," Preeti concluded.
