Anita
Guha,
who
became
famous
after
playing
the
lead
role
in
the
1975
blockbuster,
Jai
Santoshi
Maa
passed
away
last
night
following
a
cardiac
arrest.
She
was
in
her
70's.
Guha
was
suffering
with
bad
health
since
a
while
and
was
also
hospitalised.
Guha
had
come
down
to
Mumbai
to
take
part
in
a
beauty
pageant
and
landed
up
with
film
assignments.
She
did
a
number
of
films
in
her
career,
but
it
was
her
portrayal
of
Sita
in
Sampoorna
Ramayan
in
1961
that
made
her
famous.
This
success
was
followed
by
Jai
Santoshi
Maa
(1975)
which
was
one
of
the
biggest
hits
of
that
era.
Anita
also
starred
in
Sanjog
(1961)
and
multi-starrer
Nagin
(1976).
Guha
was
good
friends
with
veteran
actresses,
Mala
Sinha
and
Helen.
