While we were not watching, item songs just got cooler. Forget
Kareena Kapoor doing her swish-and-swirl in Don and Kya Love Story
Hai, it's time to make the item song as exotic as it can get.
In Anubhav Sinha's Cash the sizzling item song shot last
week in deep secrecy was performed by a Brazilian bomb named
Bruna promises to put all the Yana Guptas and Rakhi Sawants of
the Indian entertainment industry into the shade.
Divulging details of the unusual trance-action Anubhav says,
"Bruna is a very spunky and beautiful widely-travelled
dancer-entertainer from Brazil. She has been trying her luck in
entertainment industries all over the world. A year ago someone
suggested Bollywood as a paradise for entertainment-oriented
activities. Her dance number in Cash, choreographed by Rajiv
Goswami, will be the first of its kind."
The director known for his stylish rock-video song sequences
actually wanted Caterina Murino, the girl from the James Bond film
Casino Royale, to do the item song. "But when I saw what
Caterina was capable of I decided to cast her in a full-length lead
role in my next film that I'll shoot entirely in Italy," proclaims
