Director
Ashutosh
Gowarikar
is
a
relieved
for
now.
A
local
court
has
rejected
Rajput
Sabha's
plea
which
says
that
Gowarikar
should
not
distort
historical
facts
in
his
underproduction
film
Jodha-Akbar.
The Sabha wanted the script of the film to be approved by it. Rajput Sabha had filed a petition saying that Jodha Bai was not a daughter of Amer ruler Bharmal. The Sabha claims that historically there was only one Jodha Bai, who was the daughter of Marwar ruler Udai Singh and she was married to Akbar's son Jahangir.
Now director, Gowarikar has been asked by the magistrate Dinesh Kumar Gupta to give an undertaking within a week that he will not feature Udai Singh's daughter as Akbar's wife. And about the disagreement of the facts by historians, the court said that the Censor Board will look into these aspects before certifying the film. Jodha-Akbar stars Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles and is produced by UTV.
