Indian
films

filmmakers
have
gained
respected
across
the
world
and
this
is
evident
with
the
display
of
their
work
on
global
platforms.
Bimal
Roy
is
one
of
those
Indian
filmmakers,
who
became
immortal
through
his
films.
His
films
will
be
showcased
in
Italy's
'River
to
River.
Florence
Indian
Film
Festival'.
Selvaggia
Velo,
the
founder
and
director
of
the
festival
informs
that
their
aim
is
to
promote
such
cinema
in
Italy
and
Europe.
They
plan
to
showcase
independent
Indian
cinema
and
not
commercial
films.
This
retrospective
on
Roy
will
showcase
his
classic
films
like
Devdas,
Bandini
and
Do
Beegha
Zameen.
This
festival
has
been
encouraged
by
film
personalities
like
Anand
Patwardhan,
Manish
Jha,
Goutam
Ghose,
Bharatbala,
Ruchi
Narain
and
actor
Rahul
Bose.
It
is
scheduled
to
be
held
from
December
7
to
13,
and
still
open
to
entries.
