For
the
first
time
ever,
a
Bollywood
film
festival
is
taking
place
in
the
zealous
land
of
Brazil.
A
host
of
Bollywood
films
will
be
showcased
at
the
Bollywood
Film
Festival
at
Cinemateca
in
So
Paulo.
The event will take place from the March 6 to the 11 this year. Amongst those presenting their films is the YRF banner, which will screen its action-packed blockbuster Dhoom 2. This is all the more special for Yashraj because Dhoom 2 is the first Indian film ever to be shot in Brazil.
As a part of this promotion, Brazilian audiences will get to see Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai, Uday Chopra and Bipasha Basu shake a leg at exotic locales across Brazil, like the Sugarloaf Mountain and the beaches of Ipanema. Some of the other films that will be screened at this one-of-its-kind festival include the super-hit flick Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and the critically acclaimed Ayesha Dharkar starrer The Terrorist.
Reportedly, Bollywood is as big as it gets, even in the country of Brazil. The President of the Indo-Brasilian Chamber of Commerce was quoted saying that 3.5 billion people watched Indian films in 100 countries last year. And this year, with the Bollywood Film Festival, Brazil will not be far behind.
