Metro rocks at box office

In case of The Namesake, UTV increased the number of prints in the second Week based on incredible word of mouth publicity and rave reviews.

The film has notched excellent collections overseas. In the UAE, 'Metro got a grand opening of 109723 US Dollars, higher than blockbusters like Taxi No 9211 and Bluffmaster.

In the United Kingdom, Metro earned a decent 121,650 Dollars during the opening weekend, with a healthy print average of 2,967 Dollars, figuring at number 16 on the charts.

The film has also evoked praise in Bollywood circles. For example, when filmmaker Rakesh Roshan saw Metro, he was left floored by the film, especially by the work put in by writer director Anurag Basu and brilliant performances by its ensemble cast comprising Shilpa Shetty, Shiney Ahuja, Kay Kay Menon, Konkana Sen Sharma, Sharman Joshi, Kangna Ranaut and Irrfan Khan.
