Tuesday, June 19, 2007 Mithun Chakraborty simply sizzled on screen in the 80s with all the stunning actresses of his time, be it Rati Agnihotri, Padmini Kolhapuri, Poonam Dhillon, Sridevi or Ranjeeta.
Now the versatile actor's fans are all set for a 'down memory lane' kind of a treat when the Bengali actor appears again with Ranjeeta in a film titled Shatir.
Naveen Tak, distributor - turned - producer from Rajasthan has done this unique casting under the banner Silver Productions which will see the two yesteryear's actors romancing each after all these years on screen. Om Puri, Prem Chopra and Gulshan Grover are also expected to spice up the proceedings with their vital roles. The film is directed by Ashu Y Trikha, who has earlier directed Deewanapan, Sheesha and Alag.
"We have postponed the shooting by a couple of months. Now the film will mount the sets in August and will have a major stint in Malaysia. Meanwhile, music director duo Sajid - Wajid have recorded all the songs at Sound City. All the numbers are earthy and have catchy tunes", informs the enthusiastic producer. If things actually go right, this is sure to be a beautiful trip down memory lane!
