After
winning
accolades
for
his
writing
[dialogues]
in
Partner,
Sanjay
Chhel
is
back
to
his
first
love
--
direction.
After
making
two
films,
Khoobsurat
and
Kyaa
Dil
Ne
Kahaa,
Chhel
is
planning
to
direct
two
films
one
after
the
other.
The
first,
titled
Maan
Gaye
Mughal-E-Azam,
is
a
comedy,
while
the
second
is
titled
Patel
-
Punjabi
[it
was
initially
titled
Khanna
-
Patel].
"Maan
Gaye
Mughal-E-Azam
stresses
on
humour.
It's
a
dhamaal
film,
but
not
a
mindless
entertainer.
There's
a
purpose
for
everything
that's
depicted
on
screen," Chhel
states,
"It's
on
the
lines
of
Jaane
Bhi
Do
Yaaro...
It
revolves
around
a
theatre
group."
Chhel
has
signed
Paresh
Rawal,
Rahul
Bose
and
Javed
Jaffrey
for
principal
roles,
while
a
few
more
names
are
under
finalization.
The
Jains
of
Venus
will
produce
this
film.
The
second
project,
Patel
-
Punjabi,
will
revolve
around
two
characters
-
a
Gujarati
and
a
Punjabi.
"Paresh
Rawal
and
Mithun
Chakraborty
have
agreed
in
principle
to
act
in
the
film,"
Chhel
divulges.
Percept
Picture
Company
will
produce
this
project.
