From Ajay Devgan and Sunil Shetty to Emraan Hashmi and Akshay Kumar, B-Town actors are some of the biggest pranksters on the sets.
But Tusshar Kapoor got a major shock when he saw the usually reticent Sanjay Dutt play a prank on Shootout At Lokhandwala director, Apoorva Lakhia, on the last day of the shoot.
assd
Says Tusshar, who plays gangster Dilip Buwa in the film, "I didn't know Mr Dutt could be such a prankster. It was the last day of shooting and he walked in to shoot for the video with Strings.
We wanted to play a prank on Apu, but Sunil was sure nobody would believe him if he did it. That's when Mr Dutt said he'd do it.
So he walked over to Apu and told him with a straight face that he couldn't give more than eight hours for shooting and wouldn't be coming to the sets the next day; so he had to finish all his scenes that day. The look on Apu's face was priceless!"
Spilling the beans
Tusshar laughs, saying that all of them cracked up looking at Apu's reaction. "He almost had a fit!
Apu started screaming at all the assistant directors, saying, 'I want everybody here right now as I have a lot of work to do!'
He even called Amrita Singh and asked her to come to the set. Then he stood outside Mr Dutt's van, waiting for him to come out and shoot the moment he was ready.
Apu is very passionate about his work and the most organised director I have worked with.
He was dying inside but told us, 'What can I do if Sanju sir wants to finish today?' "
Tusshar says the joke would have gone on if one of the ADs hadn't spilt the beans to Lakhia. "She's very close to Apu and felt very bad for him, but Apu took it very sportingly.
Of course, he added that he always knew it was a prank and was playing along with us!"
Gadget geek
Tusshar has recently acquired a new cell phone - a Nokia 5300. " I kept dropping my old one and finally the repair guy said he couldn't fix it anymore!
The one I'm currently using was given to me by Farah and Shah Rukh Khan for doing a cameo in Om Shanti Om."
He's also bought a new iPod after his old one got stolen at the airport. "The new one is more fancy. I love music and amongst my favourites is my collection of Ministry of Sound CDs. I simply love techno and house music."
