To start with, Saregama's first venture, a new Hindi film titled 'Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii', is slated for release on June 22.The film will be on the floor in June and is a venture with Ken Ghosh's Shadow Films. It is directed by Kitu Saluja and stars Rahul Bose in the lead. The movie is a story which starts off in an orphanage where Zain Khan longs to be adopted, but very soon he comes across Rahul Bose, and from there it transforms into a film about fun, fantasy and friendship.
Talking about Saregama's plans for film production, Mr Chattopadhyay said, ''We are building an entertainment company which will create and market music, cinema, television and radio content. The best in class minds like Aparna Sen will help strategies film content and set up production processes. We are exploring cutting-edge technologies in filmmaking and bringing in best practices in the way films are made.'' ''We have been in the entertainment business for a very long time.
Our entry into film production business was a logical step looking at the scope in the Hindi entertainment market. 'Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii' is aimed at the urban multiplex going audience,'' he added.
