Less
than
a
week
remains
for
1920
to
release
and
if
initial
reactions
are
any
indications,
the
film
is
all
set
to
scare
the
daylight
out
of
the
audiences.
The
film
has
quite
a
few
moments
which
are
bound
to
send
a
shiver
down
the
spine
of
a
viewer.
Also,
with
all
due
respect
to
Phoonk
which
did
manage
to
thrill
the
audience
and
turn
into
a
box
office
success,
1920
seems
to
be
quite
a
few
notches
up
when
it
comes
to
getting
the
scare
factor
bang
on.
Directed
by
Vikram
Bhatt
who
boasts
of
his
Raaz
being
the
biggest
grosser
of
the
current
century
when
it
comes
to
horror
genre,
1920
tells
the
story
of
a
young
woman
(Adah
Sharma)
who
gets
possessed
as
she
moves
to
a
mansion
with
her
husband
(Rajnish
Duggal).
While
Adah
is
a
revelation
in
her
very
first
film
as
a
tormented
person,
excellent
lighting,
great
background
score,
haunting
setting
and
some
able
direction
by
Bhatt
do
the
rest,
hence
making
1920
a
terrifying
experience.
A
horror-thriller
which
is
releasing
on
12th
September
all
over,
1920
-
as
the
name
suggests
-
is
a
period
film.
Though
Vikram
Bhatt
isn't
quite
painting
the
town
red
while
praising
his
own
work,
word
from
the
insiders
has
it
that
1920
is
all
set
to
break
the
flop
tag
that
the
filmmaker
has
been
carrying
with
him
since
Awara
Paagal
Deewana
(2002),
which
was
his
last
successful
film
at
the
box
office.
Says
Vikram
Bhatt,
''When
I
look
back
at
the
past,
I
was
continuing
to
make
films
left,
right
and
centre.
The
quality
suffered,
of
course.
This
is
when
I
decided
to
step
back
and
get
my
priorities
in
place.
I
took
a
break
and
channelised
all
my
energies
into
1920.
I
worked
on
the
film
for
more
than
a
year
and
in
a
week
from
now,
it
is
going
to
be
show
time.''
