1920
has
turned
out
to
be
a
success
for
it's
makers.
This
period-horror
flick,
a
unique
combination
in
fact,
has
done
well
over
the
weekend
and
stayed
consistent
to
earn
3
crores
net
from
India.
This
is
quite
decent
collection
considering
the
mid-size
release
that
the
film
enjoyed,
newcomers
star
cast,
Ganesh
Chathurthi
and
Ramzan,
and
Delhi
blasts
disturbing
the
inflow
of
audience
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
Confirms
Vikram
Bhatt,
who
is
eagerly
studying
audience
response
and
collections
ever
since
the
film
arrived
over
the
Friday
gone
by,
"1920
has
done
the
kind
of
business
we
were
hoping
for.
It
has
fetched
3
crores
net
over
the
weekend,
which
is
quite
good
for
us.
It
is
a
success
in
the
making
since
for
a
film
with
a
budget
of
6.5
crores,
we
already
have
close
to
half
our
investment
back."
There
were
quite
a
few
factors
that
could
have
hampered
the
progress
of
1920,
isn't
it?
"Yes,
Ganesh
Visarjan
celebration
in
Mumbai
while
Delhi
blasts
resulted
in
cancellation
of
shows
across
NCR
for
the
Saturday
evening
and
night
shows.
This
proved
to
be
a
dent
on
the
business
but
word
of
mouth
has
been
such
that
Sunday
turned
out
to
be
good",
informs
Vikram
Bhatt
who
has
tasted
success
after
quite
some
gap
(6
years
to
be
precise).
While
1920
is
all
set
to
recover
it's
investment
from
the
theatrical
run
and
earn
even
more,
this
Ranjeesh
Duggal-Adah
Sharma
film
is
all
set
to
make
some
neat
profits
for
it's
makers
as
well.
Says
Vikram
Bhatt,
"Yes,
that's
true.
Entire
team
of
1920
is
quite
elated
with
the
way
it
has
fetched
audience
for
itself.
To
think
of
it,
satellite
rights
are
yet
to
be
sold.
Now
we
are
looking
at
how
far
does
the
film
goes
since
September
appears
to
be
quite
an
open
slate
from
here
on."
