Indian football captain Baichung Bhutia hit the headlines by refusing to carry the Olympic torch in the run-up to the Beijing Olympics to show his support for a free Tibet. However, Bollywood stars Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan are geared up to carry the torch when it touches New Delhi on April 17.
Saif Ali Khan is unperturbed by the new controversy. He said that he would certainly take part in the relay, as the Indian government and the Dalai Lama are not against the upcoming Beijing Olympics.
However, Aamir Khan chose to be extra careful, following one of his Tibet fans threatening to set himself ablaze if he carries the Olympic torch. It is said that he is in favour of running the relay. He posted on the internet that he respects the struggle of the Tibetans but would take part in the relay, as the Olympics doesn't belong to China. He added that one could hardly find a society free from human rights violations. He also said that he would carry the torch not to support China but with a prayer in his heart for the people of Tibet.
