Though the producers knew that the film had shaped up well, they didn't expect it to be a hit in the first weekend itself, so they decided to gift the director a 25- lakh cheque! On the fourth day of the release, they called Gattu to the office and a grinning Ritesh gave him a cheque for Rs 25 lakhs more than 100 per cent of his original fees!"
Ritesh Sidhwani says, "Farhan and I are very happy for the hard work Gattu has put in. Whatever amount we have given him, he definitely deserves. But I wouldn't be comfortable talking about the amount." Gattu too refuses to make a big deal about it,"The amount was far more than what I was promised. It was a wonderful gesture. I was touched."
The director is raring to get back to work. He already has a few scripts in mind but it won't be a Rock On!! "Rock On is not just about rock music but also about friends coming of age, bonding the entire experience. Though extremely fulfilling, it was physically and mentally draining. I am not ready to revisit those emotions right now."
