Ajay
Devgan,
who
is
presently
shooting
for
Vipul
Shah's
London
Dreams
on
location,
was
invited
to
an
annual
charity
gala
dinner
co-hosted
by
Mrs
Cherie
Blair
(Britain's
ex-PM,
Tony
Blair's
wife)
and
the
Loomba
trust.
The
UK
India
Business
Council
hosts
the
prestigious
event
every
year.
The
event
took
place
last
night
at
the
Banqueting
House,
Whitehall
and
was
attended
by
over
300
guests
from
both
the
British
and
Indian
communities
in
London.
London's
mayor
Boris
Johnson
was
guest
of
honour.
Also
present
was
the
Indian
High
Commissioner."
Ajay
Devgan
was
busy
shooting
but
made
it
a
point
to
attend,
"Ajay
specially
requested
producer-director
Vipul
Shah
to
grant
him
an
early
pack-up
on
October
2.
Ana
Singh
designed
a
formal
black
suit
for
the
evening." Speaking
from
London,
the
actor
says,
"By
attending
the
gala
dinner,
I
will
mark
my
support
towards
humanity
and
non-violence.
Though
Kajol
too
has
been
invited,
I
don't
think
she
will
be
able
to
make
it."
The
source
adds,
"The
Loomba
Trust
is
a
charity
organisation
which
gives
practical
help
to
widows
and
their
children
globally.
Ajay
has
always
been
proud
to
be
affiliated
to
causes
especially
which
are
for
women,
children
and
about
society.
Ajay's
close
friend
Mandeep
Kakkar
is
also
a
patron
of
the
Loomba
Trust
(Cherie
Blair
is
the
President
of
the
Trust).
Mandeep
has
spoken
about
the
deeds
and
charities
which
Ajay
and
Kajol
support
in
India
and
that
has
impressed
Cherie
Blair.
Hence
the
invitation
has
been
extended
only
to
the
two
of
them."
