Bizarre
it
may
sound,
but
true!
Megastar
Amitabh
Bachchan,
the
king
of
bollywood
Shahrukh
Khan,
Mr
Perfect
Aamir
Khan
and
master
blaster
Sachin
Tendulkar
were
amongst
the
labourers
in
the
muster
roll
of
National
Rural
Employment
Guarantee
Scheme
(NREGA).
The
incident
came
to
light
in
Mahoba
district
of
Uttar
Pradesh
during
the
scrutiny
of
the
list
released
by
NREGA
under
which
these
big
shots
were
shown
as
the
beneficiaries
of
'food
for
work'
scheme
under
NREGA
and
named
as
daily
wage
workers.
The
cricket
icon
and
Indian
team
former
skippers
Rahul
Dravid
and
Saurav
Ganguly
were
also
not
spared
and
shown
to
have
been
given
their
share
for
labour
under
the
rural
scheme.
The
name
of
the
millionaires
had
amazed
the
officials
inquiring
the
food
scam
under
the
scheme.
However,
this
was
not
the
first
such
incident,
as
three
years
ago
some
film
actors
and
cricket
players
were
found
listed
in
the
muster
roll
over
the
misappropriation
of
Rs.9
lakh,
sanctioned
for
road
construction
work
at
Kulpahar
area
under
NREGA.
SDM
Ashok
Kumar
Pushkar,
who
had
unveiled
the
'scam'
said
an
inquiry
will
be
held
and
stringent
action
taken
against
the
guilty.
