Ranbir Kapoor may be having gorgeous women like Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu and Minissha Lamba for company but one wonders if this would be good enough to take on the might of Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan.
Stay put for a mighty clash in the waiting as God Tussi Great Ho has decided to take Bachna Ae Haseeno heads on, hence turning out to be yet another instance when industry is hardly been scared of the Yash Raj Films might any more. Even though the release date of the Siddharth Anand directed film was announced months back, producer Afzal Khan is bringing this Rumi Jaffrey's debut directorial outing on the same day i.e. 15th August.
Incidentally it is going to be exciting times for Bollywood in the month of August since a week before the release of Bachna Ae Haseeno and God Tussi Great Ho comes Singh Is Kinng which is the biggest ever competition that any other movie releasing around the same time could expect.
Says an industry expert, "Singh Is Kinng is going to take a flying opening; now that's a given. Akshay, Katrina, Anees and Vipul along with Pritam are going to be lethal enough to destroy anything that dares to release alongside here. However, I am more worried about Bachna Ae Haseeno than God Tussi Great Ho."
And why is that so?
"I mean at the end of the day you can't quite ignore the star power. Along with Priyanka Chopra, Salman and Big B do form a powerful theme. The film's genre is the kind that suits Salman's image perfectly. It may be a couple of years in the making but still I believe it would pull through. However, I am not too sure about the release timing of Bachna Ae Haseeno to be apt. Singh Is Kinng wave is going to be huge in the second week as well whereas God Tussi Great Ho would be powerful on its release. I wonder how would Ranbir and his three beauties survive?"
Well, that's something which would have to be seen in weeks to come!
