The
people
of
Jharkhand
are
not
happy
with
the
move
of
the
Maharashtra
Government
in
banning
the
screening
of
Deshdrohi
in
the
state
for
two
months.
Lok
Janshakti
Party
activists
protested
against
the
ban
of
Deshdrohi
and
disrupted
the
screening
of
Hindi
films
in
Ranchi
yesterday.
The
protesters
shouted
slogans
demanding
ban
of
Bollywood
films
in
the
state
until
the
Maharashtra
Government
lifts
the
ban
on
the
screening
of
Deshdrohi.
They
also
shouted
slogans
against
Raj
Thackeray,
Chief
of
Maharashtra
Navnirman
Sena
(MNS)
and
tore
the
posters
of
Ek
Vivah
Aisa
Bhi.
They
urged
the
managers
of
cinema
halls
to
stop
screening
Bollywood
films.
Around
24
LJP
workers
were
arrested
by
the
police
following
the
disturbances
but
were
released
later.
However,
LJP
leader
Jitender
Singh
warned
that
his
party
activists
would
continue
to
disturb
the
screening
of
Bollywood
films
in
the
state
till
the
ban
on
Deshdrohi
is
lifted.
The
Government
of
Maharashtra
has
banned
the
screening
of
Deshdrohi
in
the
state
fearing
that
its
theme
would
bring
about
breakdown
of
law
and
order
in
the
state.
Deshdrohi
produced
by
Bhojpuri
actor
Kamaal
Khan
deals
with
the
injustice
and
discrimination
meted
out
to
the
North
Indians
in
Mumbai.
However,
it
has
turned
very
controversial
following
the
campaign
started
by
MNS
leader
Raj
Thackeray
against
the
North
Indians
staying
in
Mumbai
city.
This
controversial
film
directed
by
Jagdish
Sharma
features
actors
like
Gracy
Singh,
Kim
Sharma,
Kamaal
Khan,
Aman
Verma,
Ranjit,
Kader
Khan,
Raza
Mura
and
Manoj
Tiwari.
It
is
releasing
today.
