Emraan Hashmi is all set to acquire the latest BMW model — 2008's BMW Coupe (costing Rs 13-15 lakh). Emraan sounds surprised when asked, "How did you find out? Yes, I am getting the BMW in the next couple of months. I had bought my first car, a silver Accent after Footpath (his first film). I sold it off to buy a white Accord and metallic brown Honda Civic. Now I am getting the BMW." Why not a Mercedes? "I love the BMW because it's sporty and useful and it's always a car I aspired to have at my age. Maybe in a year or so, I will get a Mercedes too," says the car lover.
Emraan adds, "I love cars. And it's important to have a blaring music system with more than one amplifier to soup it up. I like loud and deafening music in my car. I don't need DVD players in my car as I watch films on my laptop. The BMW will not be customised but has pretty much everything it's supposed to have like a super smooth music system. It has 10 speakers in all; AM/FM radio, a CD Player, an MP3 Player, a Diversity Radio Antenna, a Radio Data System, Front Power Glass Tilt and a sunroof."
Emraan's next release is Jannat, in which he plays a cricket bookie in the film. He says, "I had to meet some bookies who want to remain anonymous to pick up nuances from them. It was very tough to meet them. I had to keep it very hush-hush. A bookie's life is fascinating as I learnt how bets are taken and people lose and win so much of money in such a short time. Meeting them helped me in my performance. There was a fallout too I developed a gambling problem after that. Though I try to keep a leash on my gambling as I don't want to end up selling my house," Emraan laughs.
