Jhamu Sughand passes away

It feels sad to inform you that the leading film producer, financier and distributor of the Indian film industry, Jhamu Sughand, who had been an integral part of the professional evolution of the film business in India, is no more. He passed away in Mumbai this morning.

According to sources the veteran filmmaker suffered a brain hemorrhage last night and was admitted at a Juhu hospital, in the Western suburb of Mumbai. He suffered another stroke this morning and passed away, more exact details are awaited though.

Sughand was associated with some of the biggest films of their time like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Filhaal, Kaal Purush, Aks, Dil Se and the very recent Apne, in various categories as a presenter, producer, distributor, etc. His latest film is Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, starring Aamir Khan's nephew Imraan Khan.

The sudden demise of such a great personality has shattered the entire film industry. May his soul rest in peace.
