In fact her success story seems similar to that of the character played by Priyanka Chopra, who arrives from nowhere and goes on to be a supermodel. Though in real life Mugdha does have a supermodel tag to boast, on screen Fashion has turned out to be the first step that she has taken en route to bigger success.
Continuing to be humble as ever in spite of the huge response she has gathered over the last few days, Mugdha says modestly, "All the compliments are good but I want these to translate into some good work from here on. I am glad that audience as well as film fraternity has noticed my act and all credit to Madhurji for extracting this performance."
While each and every call she has received has made her feel special, there is one particular call which she cherishes most.
"It has been from my Guru who is a very prominent theater personality and stays away from the hustle-bustle of Mumbai. He has also helped with my make up in the past. The day he saw the film and called to acknowledge my good work, I could finally assure myself that I must have indeed done something good out there in front of the camera. For me, his words mattered most because my immediate question to him was - 'Would I get more and better work from here on?' As soon as he said 'Yes', I finally began celebrating," says an emotionally charged Mugdha.
In 2009, one should be seeing more of Mugdha since she has been signed by PPC for a 3 film contract. Meanwhile talks have been quite positive with a couple of other major production houses as well and an announcement is pretty much on the anvil. Stay tuned!
