Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, who targeted Bollywood actors like Shahrukh Khan and Jaya Bachchan recently, was arrested this morning at Ratnagiri for attacking the North Indian candidates at a railway recruitment examination centre on Sunday.
A case has been registered against Raj Thackeray and his supporters for attacking the North Indians in the state. The MNS activists attacked railway examination centres in Mumbai, alleging that the locals are not represented adequately. The MNS chief said that the government has to bear the consequences if he was arrested and that Maharashtra would be set on fire.
The MNS chief Raj Thackeray had earlier attacked Jaya Bachchan for commenting at a function that she would speak in Hindi, as she was from U.P. The situation calmed down only after Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan offered public apology. Actor Shahrukh Khan was also criticised for calling himself a Delhiwala.
Meanwhile, the arrest of Raj Thackeray has led to unrest in various parts of the state.
