Sanjay Dutt begins his quest for an eight-pack abs from today. Hollywood trainer Lawrence, who has flown in from Los Angeles, will be training Dutt for three months. Says a source close to the actor, "Sanju was keen to return to his fitness regime for a long time. But owning to his legal wrangles and work commitments, he wasn't able to.
He had promised people around him that he would get an eight-pack abs. Sanju earlier wanted Mark Twight, who trained the cast of the war epic 300, to help him. But Mark couldn't make it because of his commitments, so Sanju hired Lawrence. Sanju wants a kick-ass body, as he's planning to do an action film."
The source adds, "Apart from the training, Sanju has been spinning for a month and has already lost four kilos. He spins for one hour daily in the mornings and does cardio and weights at his gym at his Bandra home for two hours at night six days a week. Sanju is also following a strict diet and has stopped drinking since the last two months."
Dutt says, "I have lost a lot of weight because of spinning. It's fantastic! You pedal on a cardio-vascular bike that burns 800 to 1,000 calories in 45 minutes. Lawrence has trained football and rugby teams. The best thing about him is that he's also a nutritionist, and martial artiste." Isn't it difficult working on an eight-pack ab? Dutt doesn't think so. He says, "It's easy to get one. Rapper 50 Cent has one too."
The reason that Dutt is going through such a grueling routine is because of Shree Ashta Vinayak's film, Blue. Says Dutt, "I start shooting in June and as the film involves action and water diving sequences, I have to be fit." The actor follows a strict boiled food, saltless diet consisting of chicken breasts, vegetables, sushi besides poached egg whites. Fruits are allowed as snacks in-between.
