What's
common
between
Jab
We
Met,
Vivah,
Ishq
Vishk,
Dil
Maange
More
and
Chup
Chup
Ke?
Each
of
them
featured
Shahid
Kapoor
as
the
solo
lead
and
was
successful
at
the
box
office,
though
at
varied
degree.
Now
let's
try
cracking
this
one.
Fida,
Deewane
Huye
Paagal,
Vaah!
Life
Ho
Toh
Aisi,
Shikhar,
36
China
Town
and
Fool
N
Final
-
Well
each
of
these
were
multistarrers
with
Fardeen
Khan,
Akshay
Kumar,
Sanjay
Dutt,
Akshaye
Khanna
and
Sunny
Deol
respectively
giving
him
company.
But
how
was
the
box
office
outcome
of
these
films?
With
an
exception
of
36
China
Town
and
Fool
N
Final
to
some
extent,
each
of
the
remaining
films
was
a
flop
at
the
box
office.
So
what's
the
tale
does
this
trend
tell?
Well,
Shahid
is
clearly
one
of
those
select
few
actors
in
the
industry
who
is
more
reliable
when
it
comes
to
a
solo
release
rather
than
being
accepted
in
a
multi
starrer.
Of
course,
it
is
all
statistics
at
the
end
of
the
day
since
a
film
works
on
its
merits
and
fails
if
there
aren't
many.
However,
in
this
superstitious
place
called
Bollywood,
it
does
boil
down
to
facts
and
trends
which
clearly
indicate
the
role
in
which
Shahid
is
accepted
most.
No
wonder,
a
'Konnection'
of
this
kind
makes
one
strongly
believe
that
his
Kismat
Konnection
would
be
a
safe
film
in
the
pipeline.
With
the
promos
of
the
film
looking
quite
interesting,
the
title
song
by
Pritam
being
a
chartbuster
already
and
Shahid-Vidya
pairing
hogging
quite
a
few
headlines,
Kismat
Konnection
only
appears
to
be
taking
Shahid's
'konnection'
with
superstardom
forward.
With
director
Aziz
Mirza
at
the
helm,
there
is
nothing
less
expected
from
this
frothy
romantic
comedy
which
is
all
set
to
hit
the
screens
on
18th
July.
