The Taare Zameen Par child star will launch a range of children's do-it-yourself kits; but this time, Aamir Khan isn't around. After a health drink, a clothing brand and endorsing biscuits with Aamir Khan, Taare Zameen child star, Darsheel Safary, is all set to launch a range of fun, do-it-yourself, educational kits for children today all by himself.

The toys are a part of the merchandise initiative of Taare Zameen Par. This time around, mentor Aamir Khan won't be there (though he's the director of the film). Aamir left with Kiran and his children for a holiday abroad yesterday.

Says a source, "Darsheel is known to be very choosy about the products he endorses. His manager Shobha Sant passes on the offers of companies to endorse their products but its Darsheel's choice what he wants to sign. He chose this range of do-it-yourself kits for children are they are fun and creative."

The kits have an educational purpose too. "The kits also encourage the logic and motor development skills among kids. TZP dealt with dyslexia. The TZP range of products have been specially developed after consulting qualified professionals like art teachers, child psychologists, special educators and industry related professionals so as to enhance the thinking process and creativity of a child in a fun way. The products are designed specifically to test the motor skills and identification skills of kids unlike the Indian system of rote education and learning."

Talking about it, Darsheel says, "My sister Najvi and I have tried out most of the stuff available in the kits. I love the games. There's stuff like Create Your Own Facemasks, Make Your Own Greetings Cards, My First Painting, Paint My Number, Puzzles Fun, Create Your Own Magazine holder, Fun Book About Me and others. They are for children of all ages. My friends liked the kits too."

Aamir won't be here for the launch. Is Darsheel in touch with him? "Off and on. Sometimes when there's work, we talk." Darsheel has completed shooting for Bum Bum Bhole. He will be seen next in the Walt Disney film on children. Darsheel only works during the vacations. Currently he's studying in Standard 7.
