Farhan
Akhtar,
like
most
creative
people,
needs
his
working
space,
especially
when
he's
working.
Currently,
the
actor-director-producer-singer
has
a
sea-facing
room
in
his
name
at
a
five-star
suburban
hotel,
where
he
works
from
morning
to
evening.
Even
though
he
has
a
home
and
an
office
close
by,
Farhan
prefers
to
work
in
isolation.
Currently,
the
Don
director
is
writing
the
dialogues
for
his
next
production
which
is
to
be
directed
by
Abhinay
Deo.
Talking
about
his
creative
space
Farhan
says,
"Though
it's
true
that
I
have
a
spacious
bungalow
in
Bandra
every
time
I
need
to
write
for
my
films
I
need
my
own
space." Farhan
brushes
aside
the
inference
that
his
children
can
prove
to
be
a
distraction
at
home.
"I
love
spending
time
with
my
children.
I
have
been
booking
into
a
hotel,
a
few
metres
from
my
home,
to
write
my
dialogues,
ever
since
Lakshya
(his
second
film).
This
way
I
get
to
disconnect
completely
and
am
alone
with
my
thoughts.
The
only
things
that
I
bring
with
me
are
my
laptop,
music
(iPod)
and
the
script
that
I
am
working
on."
Farhan
has
been
going
to
the
hotel
for
over
a
week
now.
"I
go
in
the
morning,
write
my
stuff
and
come
home
in
the
evening.
This
is
my
own
private
space
which
I
don't
get
at
the
office
too
as
there's
a
constant
stream
of
visitors
there."
He
adds
that
he
doesn't
miss
the
electronic
medium
or
his
family.
"I
don't
watch
too
much
TV
so
I
don't
miss
that
and
my
cell
is
mostly
on
silent
or
off
unless
I
am
expecting
an
important
call.
I
don't
miss
my
family
as
I
come
home
in
the
evening.
This
way
it
helps
me
to
focus
on
the
task
at
hand
and
finishes
work
a
lot
faster
than
I
do
otherwise
at
home
or
in
the
office.
If
there's
a
very
important
meeting
then
I
can
do
it
from
the
hotel
too
and
then
get
back
to
work."
After
Abhinay's
film,
he
will
write
the
dialogues
for
sister
Zoya's
next
film
and
then
the
sequel
of
Don.
It
takes
him
2-3
weeks
to
complete
writing
for
a
film.
Though
Farhan
writes
the
dialogues
of
most
of
his
productions,
for
Karthik
Calling
Karthik,
which
has
been
written
and
directed
by
Vijay
Lalwani.
When
asked
if
that
bothered
the
writer
in
him,
he
says,
"No,
because
all
discussions
take
place
before
we
begin
shooting
and
then
there
are
suggestions
from
everyone.
There's
no
such
thing
like
'I
know
better' because
I
am
a
writer
and
director
too
happening
here.
Whatever
suits
the
script
the
best
is
taken."
Farhan
is
looking
forward
to
KCK,
"It
was
an
extremely
challenging
role
to
take
on.
The
script
is
very
taut
and
gripping
and
the
romantic
track
is
refreshing.
I
haven't
done
intense
romantic
scenes
till
now
—
even
in
Rock
On!!
and
Luck
By
Chance.
I
play
a
very
interesting
character
who
changes
dramatically
through
the
film."
