Imran follows the footsteps of James Dean

Imran Khan, unlike his uncle Aamir, has a fetish for hot wheels or super fast cars. Few people are aware of Imran's need for speed. He presently owns a white BMW gifted to him to by mamujaan Aamir after his debut film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and a white Honda Civic. Now he wants to splurge on a Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

Says a source, "Imran loves fast stylish cars. One of his icons is Hollywood legend James Dean who died young at 24 while driving his Porsche. Imran a huge Dean fan wanted to own a car of the same make. "Imran has a huge poster of James Dean in his living room, which he brought from the USA when he was a kid. Imran finds the actor very cool and even quotes dialogues from his films to friends.

Last month, Imran test drove the car at a showroom in Mumbai and instantly decided to buy it. His car will be delivered to him at the end of the month. Imran's quite possessive about his cars and prefers to drive them himself. Last month, he drove Aamir to an event. Imran had even attended the Singapore Grand Prix F1 last year with Shilpa Shetty and Sonam Kapoor."

James Byron Dean (February 8, 1931 - September 30, 1955) was a two-time Oscar-nominated American film actor. Dean's status as a cultural icon is best embodied in the title of his most celebrated film, Rebel Without A Cause, in which he starred as troubled stereotypical high school rebel Jim Stark. His enduring fame rests on only three films, his entire starring output.

Dean was the first actor to receive a psothumous Academy award for Best Actor. Dean died in an accident while driving his favourite car a rare Silver Porsche Spyder, one of only 90 in 1955.
