Kareena airdashes for Reena Pillai

Kareena Kapoor will fly for roughly around 15 hours from Australia to Mumbai so she can attend her best friend Reena Pillai's wedding on December 12. Bebo is currently shooting in Sydney for Karan Johar's remake of Stepmom. Post the wedding, she will fly back the same night. Reena is producer N N Sippy's granddaughter and the co-owner of a PR agency and is getting married to management executive Karan Gupta.

Says Gopa Kanungo, Reena's co-partner, "Bebo and Reena have been childhood friends. They have been friends for over 25 years. Bebo's mother Babita and Reena's parents Prem and Shabnam Pillai have been good friends for 35 years now and the girls became close early on. Reena accompanies her to most shoots (abroad and in India) but this time, she couldn't as she was busy with her wedding. Kareena had asked Karan for a leave of absence for three day beforehand, to be able to attend the wedding. In her absence, the unit will continue to shoot with Arjun Rampal and Kajol."

It is learnt that Bebo will wear a Manish Malhotra designed saree for the wedding. And her wedding gift to her gal pal is a honeymoon package abroad. Kareena's boyfriend Saif will also attend the wedding as will her close friend Amrita Arora and her husband Shakeel Ladhak — both of whom know Reena personally. Babita will also be present for all the functions but Karisma, who is heavily pregnant might just come for the wedding. The two BFFs have been planning for their weddings since childhood and know what they will be doing right down to the minutest details.

Bebo confirms the development, "I am coming back on the 10th night just for Reena. I have to! She's my dearest friend. We go back a really long way and this is something we have been planning for years…"
