Canadian
born
Bollywood
actress
Lisa
Ray
is
not
a
person
to
forget
her
roots
so
easily.
Her
father
being
a
Bengali,
she
loves
India
as
much
as
Indians
love
her.
She
is
thankful
to
India
for
the
love
she
has
received.
“It"s
6:30
am
and
I
have
not
slept.
That"s
another
thing
about
steroids.
They
make
you
really
hyper.
And
I
blame
you
India.
You
have
sent
me
so
much
love.
And
advice.
So
I
went
through
each
and
every
message.
Like
the
good,
dutiful
half-Bengali
daughter
I
am.
Except
I"m
not
studying
for
my
medical
finals,
I"m
looking
at
each
and
every
word
you
have
sent," she
wrote
on
her
blog.
Lisa
Ray
said
that
she
is
humbled
by
the
response
to
her
article.
“Thank
you
to
my
friends
and
colleagues
there
who
have
reached
out
or
expressed
their
support.
I
send
love
and
hope
to
connect
with
each
of
you
in
the
real
world,"
she
wrote.
Lisa
announced
a
couple
of
days
ago
that
she
has
been
diagnosed
with
Multiple
Myeloma,
a
cancer
of
the
white
blood
cells
known
as
plasma
cells,
which
produce
antibodies.
She
has
started
her
first
cycle
of
treatment.
It
maybe
recalled
that
Lisa
plunged
into
Bollywood
through
Kasoor
in
2001
opposite
Aftab
Shivdasani
after
a
successful
modelling
career.
She
went
on
to
act
in
films
like
Water,
Bollywood/Hollywood
and
many
others.
Her
latest
film
I
Can't
Think
Straight
by
Shamim
Sharif
is
releasing
today.
