"It was an Odisssi dance performance. It was complicated because among all the songs that I've ever shot for, this has been the most difficult. In the normal course, it's easy to rehearse a step and add your own style to it, not necessarily perfecting it, making it fun. But here I had to not only do a different dance form, I had to do it perfectly, making it look authentic and emote at the same time," revealed Shilpa.
The actress said that it takes a lot of practice and she had to curve her body to authenticate the dance performance. "Well Thanks to my Guru, Ratikant Mohapatra (son of the iconic Odissi dancer Kelucharan Mohapatra) and his wife Rajshree, who were hard taskmasters, they made the impossible possible. What is really interesting is also that I got the chance to experiment with so many different looks, right from donning all the finery for the dance performances to going simple which is the actual character."
When asked about going bald for the film Shilpa said, "Can't divulge too many details, but I'm sure it will be a film I'll be proud of. Contrary to reports, I didn't say no to going bald. I was never asked to go bald. It was just understood that I couldn't cut my hair because of continuity I need to maintain for my other films."
Shilpa Shetty has been taking Odissi dance lessons for her forthcoming Indo-Chinese project The Desire. She recently completed shooting a complicated song and major scenes for the film. She informed that it wasn't any ordinary song.
